The Anglican Church of the Indian Ocean is a Province within the Anglican Communion comprising the dioceses in Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles. The first Anglican missionary arrived in Madagascar in 1864. In 1874 the diocese of Madagascar was founded. There are now six Anglican dioceses in Madagascar.
The Centre for Global Mission has provided the Province with theological training material which they are using to assist with their training of lay and ordained church workers in all Anglican dioceses within Madagascar. They are currently using the Moore College PTC material in French and Malagasy. There are ongoing translations of the PTC material into Malagasy. CGM is looking for funds to continue the Malagasy translation work.
